Parking on the outskirts of Prague

Many drivers dislike driving their cars directly into the city center. There are many reasons behind it:
  • fear of heavy traffic,
  • concerns about damaging the car,
  • stress from the busy environment,
  • difficult orientation in one-way streets,
  • higher parking prices...
Prague's public transport system has long been ranked among the best in the world, so parking outside the city center is fortunately not a problem. The public transport network covers almost the entire city, so you can get pretty much anywhere by metro, bus, or tram.

Parking on the outskirts of the city is a great option for you, regardless of which of the above groups of drivers you belong to.

Parking options outside the center of Prague

Parking at shopping centers - some Prague shopping centers offer free parking for a certain period of time (usually 1-3 hours, even longer on weekends). After this period, parking costs approximately CZK 50-60/hour. Parking is completely prohibited outside the opening hours of shopping centers.

Parking in zones - the zones are blue (residential; only short-term parking for visitors), purple (mixed; unlimited parking for residents, for visitors for the time indicated on the sign) and orange (visitors only; any visitor can park here for a limited time).

P+R (Park & Ride) - so-called park-and-ride facilities in the immediate vicinity of public transport stations, especially near the metro. Some locations offer free parking for 12 hours, after which all-day parking costs CZK 50 or CZK 100. Payment is only possible on site and parking spaces cannot be reserved in advance.

This does not apply to parking with MR.PARKIT, where you don't have to rely on chance and get up tens of minutes earlier to park before someone else takes your parking space. Your parking space is reserved in advance, paid for online, and waiting just for you. As a bonus, you don't have to carry a parking ticket with you, because all the necessary information is available in the app or in your email and SMS.
